In January 1986, I founded Precious Possessions in response to my sister’s struggle to find reliable childcare in our small town. While my original dream was to become a kindergarten teacher, I saw an opportunity to make a difference and decided to open Precious Possessions instead. Kathy and I grew up on my father's farm, where our summers were filled with hard work—tending to tobacco, collecting eggs, and working in the peanut fields. We've come a long way since those days! Our shared vision of creating an exceptional childcare center took root on January 2, 1986, and now, 40 years later, we are proudly living that dream, along side 25 additional staff members.
